Ohio (3-3, 2-1 Mid-American) took a 7-0 lead on Chris Garrett's 88-yard punt return in the first quarter. The Bobcats forced a fumble on ensuing kickoff and drove 17 yards for a score, capped by McRae's 2-yard run, and led 14-0 at halftime.

C.J. Wilson got Western Michigan (3-2, 1-1) on the scoreboard with a 66-yard interception return with 6:19 left in the third quarter.

Ohio's Matt Lasher kicked his second field goal early in the fourth quarter to make it 20-7, but Western Michigan cut the lead to 20-14 on Ryan Cubit's 1-yard TD pass to Brandon Ledbetter with 9:26 remaining.

The Broncos failed to covert on fourth down with 3:53 left and the Bobcats responded with an 84-yard drive, highlighted by Everson's 72-yard run. McRae scored on a 3-yard run.
