TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) -- Dan LeFevour threw three touchdown passes,
including two that connected with Obed Cetoute, to lead Central
Michigan to a 42-20 win over Toledo Saturday.
The Chippewas (3-3, 3-0 Mid-American Conference) were down 14-0
when they scored 42 unanswered points, with LeFevour's 20-yard pass
to Cetoute starting the rally with 5:09 left in the second quarter.
LeFevour then hit Bryan Anderson with a 23-yard pass before Daniel
Bazuin scored on a 32-yard fumble recovery with 20 seconds left in
the half. The Central Michigan defense also scored in the fourth
quarter, when Doug Kress scored on a 31-yard interception return.
Toledo (2-4, 0-2 Mid-American Conference) took the early lead
when Steve Odom scored on a 9-yard pass from Aaron Opelt in the
first quarter. Chris Hopkins followed with a 15-yard Opelt pass
reception to start the second quarter. The Rockets didn't score
again until Hopkins caught a 4-yard pass from Opelt with 38 seconds
left to play.
Cetoute's other score came on an 8-yard pass in the third
quarter. Also scoring for the Chippewas was Marcel Archer, with a
1-yard run in the fourth quarter.
LeFevour completed 21 of 29 passes for 295 yards with no
interceptions. Opelt connected on 31 of 52 passes for 288 yards and
threw two interceptions.
