TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) -- Aaron Opelt threw four touchdown passes, Gordon Warner ran for three more and Toledo piled up a school-record 812 yards of offense in a 70-21 victory over Northern Illinois on Saturday night.
It was the most yards by a Bowl Subdivision team this season.
The Rockets (4-5, 2-3 Mid-American Conference) threw for 430 yards and ran for 382, amassed 35 first downs and averaged almost 9 yards per play.
Opelt completed 22 of 28 passes for 387 yards and touchdowns of 33, 29 and 33 yards to Nick Moore and 5 yards to Stephen Williams.
DaJuane Collins rushed for 132 yards on 15 carries with a touchdown, Jalen Parmele had 106 yards on 16 carries and another touchdown and Warner rushed for 56 yards on 16 carries with touchdown runs of 9, 2 and 11 yards.
Moore had seven catches for 145 yards and the three scores.
For Northern Illinois (1-8, 0-5), Justin Anderson rushed for 116 yards on 24 carries and scored on a 6-yard run.
The Rockets only had to punt once, forced three turnovers and had two of their own.
