PITTSBURGH, Pa. (AP) -- Kevin Rombach threw for two touchdowns and Greg Hough ran for two more, as Duquesne posted a convincing 51-8 win over La Salle on Saturday.
Duquesne (6-3, 2-1 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) jumped out to 17-0 lead with a 13-yard touchdown pass from Rombach to Conrad Carter, a 23-yard field goal by Mark Troyan, and a 2-yard run by Hough.
The Dukes added two more touchdowns in the second quarter on a 1-yard dive by Hough and a 7-yard pass from Scott Knapp to Michael Rasky.
Duquesne increased its lead to 51-0 with three touchdowns in the third quarter. The first came on a 58-yard pass from Rombach to Alex Roberson. The Dukes also scored on a 1-yard run by Brian Smoot and a 3-yard fumble recovery by Mykol Gardiner.
La Salle (0-9, 0-3) scored its first points on a PAT return with 2:07 left in the third quarter. The Explorers also scored on a 15-yard pass from Steve Panasuk to Kevin Crockett with 3:57 left in the game.
Duquesne accumulated 433 yards in total offense, including 130 yards on 40 rushing attempts. Rombach completed 10 of 17 passes for 215 yards. Roberson caught three passes for 101 yards. Hough rushed for 44 yards on 14 carries.
La Salle was held to 75 yards in total offense, including just 11 yards rushing. Joe Procopio completed only 6 of 15 passes for 26 yards, and was sacked four times.
