CONWAY, Ark. -- Brent Grimes rushed for two touchdowns and caught another to help Central Arkansas to a 28-21 victory Saturday night over Southeastern Louisiana.
Central Arkansas (7-1, 3-0) scored four touchdowns in a row and held off a fourth-quarter surge by Southeastern Louisiana (4-4, 1-2). The Bears relied on an evenly matched ground and air game, with quarterback Nathan Brown connecting on 14 of his 24 passes for 164 yards and two touchdowns. Central Arkansas rushed for 182 yards.
Brown connected with Marquez Branson early in the second quarter on a 34-yard touchdown pass. Grimes followed it with a 2-yard run and a 9-yard touchdown catch with 16 seconds left in the half.
In the fourth quarter, Babin connected with Sim Yarborough for an 8-yard touchdown pass and later with Jay Lucas on a 19-yard touchdown pass with 3:12 left in the game.
However, a final Lions drive to the end zone came up short when Babin threw three incomplete passes and turned over the ball to the Bears.
Babin completed 27 of his 43 passes for 270 yards and an interception in the loss. The Lions rushed for only 51 yards on 20 carries.
