NATCHITOCHES, La. -- Derrick Fourroux ran for three touchdowns to lead McNeese State to a 24-17 win against Northwestern State on Saturday night.
Fourroux rushed for 69 yards and completed 11 of 22 passes for 138 yards for the Cowboys (7-3, 4-2 Southland Conference), and Todd Pendland added 103 yards on 24 carries.
John Hundley completed 11 of 24 passes for 154 yards with one touchdown and one interception, and added 10 yards and a score on the ground for the Demons (6-5, 3-3).
Hundley's 1-yard rush gave the Demons a 7-3 lead after the first, and Fourroux's 1-yard score midway through the second to tie the game 10 going into halftime. After a scoreless third quarter, Fourroux scored on runs of 4 and 14 yards in the fourth to put the Cowboys ahead for good.
McNeese State outgained Northwestern State 404-227 in the game, and also forced the game's only turnover.
