MIAMI -- Alfred Morris ran for two touchdowns and caught another score as Florida Atlantic defeated Florida International 28-21 Saturday night.
Morris rushed for 158 yards on 25 carries as he captured the Sun Belt Conference rushing title for 2009. He finished the season with 1,392 yards as the Owls (5-7, 5-3 Sun Belt Conference) defeated the Panthers (3-9, 3-5) for the seventh time in eight meetings.
Morris put the game out of the Panthers' reach with two fourth-quarter touchdowns. His 9-yard rushing score with 9:58 left in the game gave Florida Atlantic a 21-14 lead and a 20-yard touchdown run gave the Owls a 28-14 lead with 2:23 left in the game.
