YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Terrance Owens threw four touchdown passes to lead Toledo to a 42-7 victory over Eastern Michigan on Saturday.
Owens, who replaced injured starter Austin Dantin in the first quarter, found Danny Noble for scores of 74 and 6 yards in the first half as the Rockets (6-3, 5-0 Mid-American) moved to a 15-7 halftime lead. Owens hooked up with Adonis Thomas for 68 yards and Eric Page for 53 in a 3-minute span in the third quarter to open up a three-TD edge.
Owens finished 10-of-15 for 234 yards. Page, who led Toledo with five catches for 86 yards, also tossed a 5-yard touchdown pass to David Pasquale in the fourth quarter.
Corey Welch scored the only touchdown for Eastern Michigan (1-8, 1-4) on a 1-yard run in the first quarter. Eagles quarterback Alex Gillett was 15-of-26 for 170 yards but was intercepted twice and sacked four times.
