BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Ben Dupree scored on an 8-yard run with 3:04 left to lift The Citadel to a 13-12 win over Samford on Saturday in the season finale for both teams.
The Citadel (3-8, 1-7 Southern Conference) took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter when Travis Ruff scored off a blocked punt.
Cameron Yaw made field goals from 19, 21, 27 and 42 yards away to put Samford (4-7, 2-6) ahead with 8:29 left in the fourth quarter. But Dupree put The Citadel up for good with his 8-yard touchdown run.
Dupree completed 3 of 5 passes for 29 yards, rushing for 22 yards on 18 carries for The Citadel.
