CHENEY, Wash. -- Bo Levi Mitchell passed for 400 yards and three touchdowns to carry Eastern Washington to a 48-27 homecoming victory over Northern Colorado on Saturday.
Mitchell, who completed 28 of 39 passes, also ran for a score for the Eagles (3-4 overall, 3-2 Big Sky), who have won three straight. Seth Lobato threw for a career-high 408 yards and a touchdown for the Bears (0-7, 0-5) in a losing effort.
After Northern Colorado climbed to within 27-20 on Dave Eden's field goal late in the third quarter, Eastern Washington responded with back-to-back touchdowns in a span of 22 seconds to pull away. Mitchell sandwiched scoring passes of 12 yards to Greg Herd and 42 yards to Nicholas Edwards around T.J. Lee III's interception of Lobato to go up 41-20 with 58 seconds left in the third.
Herd's 11 receptions for 159 yards were both career highs.
