Montana 32, W. Oregon 7

MISSOULA, Mont. -- Brody McKnight opened the game with five straight field goals Saturday as Montana defeated Western Oregon 32-7.

McKnight hit from 24, 21, 51 and 30 yards as the Grizzlies took a 12-0 halftime lead. He added a 36-yarder to start the third quarter and later added a school-record sixth field goal -- a 24-yarder -- in the fourth.

Montana (8-2) also got TDs on a 1-yard run from Brett Kirschner and a 5-yard pass from Nate Montana to Antwon Moutra.

Western Oregon, a Division II school, got its only points on a 27-yard pass from Cory Bean to Lucas Gonsalves that pulled the Wolves within 15-7 in the third quarter.

Peter Nguyen rushed for 149 yards for Montana. Quarterback Jordan Johnson played the first quarter before giving way to Gerald Kemp in the second quarter and Montana in the fourth.
