CONWAY, S.C. -- Alex Ross ran for two touchdowns and passed for another as Coastal Carolina cruised past Hampton 50-17 on Saturday night.
Coastal Carolina (4-0), off to its best start in school history, scored five of its six touchdowns in the first half, including two rushing TDs by Ross. Ross added a 6-yard scoring pass to DeMario Bennett as the first half expired to give the Chanticleers a 40-0 lead.
Lorenzo Taliaferro had 14 carries for 99 yards and two TDs for the Chanticleers. He has 486 rushing yards in four games, the best start for a running back in CCU history.
The CCU offense continued to roll with 511 total yards, following last week's 631 yards against Eastern Kentucky.
