ST. LOUIS -- Michael German was 8 of 8 for 159 yards and three touchdowns to lead Tennessee State's 73-6 rout over Central State on Saturday.
German was subbed out for most of the second half after Tennessee State (4-1) raced ahead, leading 28-0 at the end of the first quarter and 43-6 by the end of the half.
Tennessee State gained 539 yards on 54 plays, scoring 10 touchdowns and needing to punt only once in the game.
Central State (0-4) scored its only touchdown on a 1-yard run by Michael Wilson early in the second quarter but failed on its 2-point conversion.
The Tigers and Marauders played for the first time since 1990. Tennessee State now leads the series 26-5.
