DAVIS, Calif. (AP) -- David Ball caught a 3-yard touchdown pass from Ricky Santos with 35 seconds left, giving New Hampshire a 17-13 victory over UC Davis on Saturday night.

Santos was 32-for-47 for 336 yards, and John McCoy rushed for 92 yards for the Wildcats in the first meeting between the Division I-AA schools separated by 3,089 miles.

Jon Grant went 26-for-44 for 301 yards and a touchdown for UC Davis, which led for most of the game until the schools combined for three touchdowns in the final four minutes.

McCoy's 6-yard TD run with 3:34 left in the fourth quarter gave New Hampshire a 10-6 lead. Two minutes later, Brandon Rice caught a 1-yard scoring pass for UC Davis.

After Ball's score, New Hampshire safety Baron Flenory intercepted Grant's pass at the Aggies 19 to end it.

The Aggies scored on their opening possession after Daniel Fell's 38-yard catch set up a 5-yard touchdown run by Nelson Doris, but Emmanuel Benjamin missed the extra point.

McCoy fumbled at the UC Davis 2 in the first quarter, and Connor McCormick missed a 37-yard field goal to leave the Wildcats scoreless at halftime. McCormick kicked a 24-yard field goal midway through the third quarter.
