JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) -- Josh Greco threw two touchdown passes
and Ty Griswold ran for two scores, leading Eastern Kentucky to a
31-14 victory over Jacksonville State on Saturday.
Greco completed 21 of 36 passes for the Colonels (2-3, 2-0 Ohio
Valley Conference), who beat the Gamecocks for the first time in
Eastern Kentucky's defense, which allowed Jacksonville State
(1-4, 1-1) to score on two of its first four possessions, held the
Gamecocks scoreless in their final 12 touches of the evening.
The Colonels trailed 14-7 at the bottom of the second quarter,
until Antwuan Molden recovered a Gamecock fumble on the
Jacksonville 20-yard line. Greco and Kyle Barber connected on
Eastern Kentucky's first third-down conversion of the night. Wes
Wolfe followed with a 1-yard touchdown pass from Greco to tie the
The Colonels inched ahead on Taylor Long's 34-yard field goal.
Mark Lunn and Adam Patrick each ran for a score in the second
half to seal the victory.
Clay Green rushed for 144 yards on 21 carries for the Gamecocks.
Maurice Mullins completed 11 of 26 passes for 168 yards.
