NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- Monte Anthony ran for 116 yards and three
touchdowns and Norfolk State took a 19-0 first half lead and held
on to beat VMI 32-19 on Saturday.
The Spartans (2-0) got touchdown runs on 6 yards from Darryl
Jones and 3 yards from Anthony and two field goals from Antonio
Gomez in the opening 30 minutes.
The Keydets (1-1) got on the board when Jonathan Wilson and
Willie Bell connected on a 71-yard touchdown pass in the third
quarter, but Anthony added scoring runs of 1 and 9 yards in the
fourth quarter, sandwiched around Wilson's 22-yard TD to Nat
Anthony carried 21 times. The Spartans had 202 rushing yards,
Sean Mizzer gained 109 yards on 14 attempts for VMI, and Joey
Robinson added a 4-yard run for the Keydets with 3 seconds to play.
He had 83 yards on just six carries.
Wilson finished 6-for-13 for 149 yards and was sacked three
