but Purdue finally stopped Miami of Ohio on its last two

Kory Sheets scored four touchdowns - including one in overtime -
and Purdue withstood three potential tying end-zone passes by
Mike Kokal for a 38-31 victory over Miami.

With the game tied, 31-31, Nathan Parseghian had a 39-yard field
goal blocked by defensive end Anthony Spencer as time expired
in regulation, denying the RedHawks the upset.

Sheets ran for 61 yards on 14 carries. He had a two-yard run
before scampering in from the 11 in OT.

On the final possession, Kokal, who completed 29-of-43 passes
for 355 yards and four touchdowns, had Miami (0-2) with a
1st-and-goal at the 8. But after a penalty and no gain on a run
by Austin Sykes, Kokal threw three incompletions in the end
