San Jose State 44, Louisiana Tech 10

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) -- Yonus Davis rushed for a career-high 199 yards in San Jose State's 44-10 win over Louisiana Tech on Saturday -- the Spartans' seventh straight victory at home.

Davis ran 168 of those yards during the first half, scoring twice as the Spartans (5-2, 2-1 WAC) continued their best start in 14 years.

The Spartans held the Bulldogs, who rushed for 344 yards in last week's win over Utah State, to 41 yards rushing. Saturday's defeat was the fifth straight loss on the road for Louisiana Tech (2-6, 1-3).

Davis scored on runs of seven and 90 yards as San Jose State rushed for a season-high 476 yards -- third-most in school history. Spartans quarterback Adam Tafralis threw for 163 yards, including a 49-yard touchdown pass to John Broussard, who has caught passes in 29 consecutive games, the longest current streak in the WAC.

Patrick Perry, Cameron Island and James Callier Jr. also scored rushing touchdowns for San Jose State, which has won five of its last six contests.

William Griffin scored on a one-yard plunge late in the third quarter to bring the Bulldogs within 30-10. But the Spartans scored twice in the final period to put the game away.
