HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) -- Rodney Landers ran for 128 yards and two touchdowns and threw for 241 yards and a third score to lead James Madison to a 41-24 win over New Hampshire on Saturday.
The Dukes (1-1, 1-0 Colonial Athletic Association) tied the game at 24-all in the third on a 6-yard run by Landers and went ahead for good when Landers connected with Eugene Holloman for an 11-yard strike. Holloman also finished with 98 yards on the ground on 26 carries.
In the fourth quarter, Dave Stannard kicked an 18-year field goal and Antoinne Bolton capped the scoring with a 49-yard touchdown run.
The Wildcats (0-1, 0-1) were led by Ricky Santos, who passed for 353 yards and two touchdowns on 36-of-47 attempts. He also threw two interceptions.
Santos put the first points on the board with an 18-yard touchdown strike to Mike Boyle, who finished with 97 receiving yards. Santos also was New Hampshire's top rusher with 40 yards on eight carries and a touchdown.
