W. Michigan 42, Toledo 28

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) -- Tim Hiller passed for three touchdowns and Mark Bonds ran for two to guide Western Michigan past Toledo 42-28 on Saturday night.

Hiller's scoring strikes covered 33 yards to Branden Ledbetter, 9 yards to Brandon West and 17 yards to Jamarko. Simmons. Hiller completed 21-of-29 passes for 229 yards with one interception for the Broncos (2-3, 1-0 Mid-American Conference).

Bonds rushed for 143 yards on 26 carries, scoring on runs of 2 and 14 yards.

Jalen parmele picked up 130 yards on 20 rushes for Toledo (1-4, 0-2). Clint Cochran, Aaron Opelt and D.J. Lenehan combined to complete just 9-of-23 passes for 158 yards with one interception. Nick Moore caught four passes for 110 yards, including a 28-yard touchdown pass from Opelt early in the first quarter.

The Broncos totaled 261 yards on the ground, with West adding 102 yards on 25 carries. He also had five catches for 51 yards.
