CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) -- Quarterback Allan Holland threw two touchdown passes to launch Eastern Kentucky past Eastern Illinois 28-21 on Saturday.
Holland was 30-of-44 for 321 yards for the Colonels (4-2, 3-0 Ohio Valley), who knocked the Panthers (3-3, 2-1) out of the league's unbeaten ranks.
Holland was successful throughout the day at dodging the Panther's defense.
Eastern Kentucky was up 15-14 at the half and scored on three of their first four possessions in the second half.
Eastern Illinois' Ademola Adeniji rushed for 186 yards and had 58 yards on three catches in the loss. He ran 73 yards during a play in the second quarter that helped Eastern Illinois grab a 14-9 lead.
The Panthers, down 28-14 in the fourth quarter, made one final charge, scoring a touchdown with 1:30 remaining to make it 28-21. They then tried for an on-side kick, but the ball bounced Eastern Kentucky?s way allowing the Colonels to run out the clock.
