Ball St. 27, W. Michigan 23

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) -- Frank Edmonds scored on a 1-yard touchdown run with 1:07 remaining as Ball State defeated Western Michigan 27-23 Saturday.

The Cardinals' Nate Davis was 25-of-48 passing for 358 yards and two touchdowns. Donte Love led Ball State (5-3, 2-1 Mid-American Conference) with 11 catches for 101 yards. Louis Johnson had three receptions for 110 yards and a score.

Western Michigan running back Brandon West finished with a career-high 171 yards rushing on 21 attempts. The Broncos (3-5, 2-1) took a 23-20 lead with 9:38 left in the fourth quarter when Tim Hiller found Jordan White for a 50-yard touchdown.

Hiller passed for 237 yards and the score to White, but threw three interceptions and was sacked four times. Ball State did not turn the ball over. For the season, the Cardinals have MAC-low seven turnovers.
