HAMILTON, N.Y. -- Jordan Sorrells threw for 211 yards and three touchdowns to lead Furman past Colgate 42-21 on Saturday.
Sorells completed 15 of 23 passes, including a 23-yard TD throw to Larry Hedden and a 1-yarder to Seth Skogen in the second half. Mike Brown had 21 carries for 130 yards for the Paladins (2-1), with an 8-yard scoring run in the second quarter.
Jordan Scott gave Colgate (1-2) the lead on its opening drive with a 4-yard run. Scott finished with 19 carries for 113 yards and two touchdowns, gaining at least 100 yards for the 15th consecutive game.
Furman replied with a drive capped by Sorrells' 6-yard touchdown pass to fullback Tersoo Uhaa.
Greg Sullivan completed 17 of 21 passes for 183 yards and rushed for 60 more for Colgate. Pat Simonds caught nine passes for 98 yards.
