MISSOULA, Mont. -- A seven-yard touchdown pass from Cole Bergquist to Mike Mariani late in the fourth quarter gave Montana a 29-24 win over UC Davis Saturday.
Davis took its first lead at 24-23 with 6:36 left on the clock.
The Aggies had a chance to take the lead again after Montana scored but they were stopped by the Grizzly defense on a fourth-and-two.
Montana, ranked No. 4 in the Football Championship Subdivision, is now 3-0 on the season.
With the loss the Aggies are 1-3.
Montana's Bergquist completed 19 of 29 passes for 255 yards and two touchdowns.
UC Davis quarterback Greg Denhan threw for 251 yards on 31 of 38 passes with one touchdown and one interception. Chris Carter led the Aggies' receiving corps with seven catches for 68. Running back Brandon Tucker rushed 21 times for 81 yards and a touchdown.
