CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- Pat Grace ran for two scores and threw a touchdown pass to lead Northern Iowa to a 34-14 victory over Nicholls State on Thursday night.
Grace ran for 92 yards and passed for 152 for the Panthers (3-2). He scored on two 2-yard runs and went 9-for-15 with a 36-yard TD pass to Jarred Herring.
Derrick Law ran for 51 yards and scored on a 12-yard run late in the fourth quarter.
The Panthers, who finished with 378 yards of total offense, scored the last 20 points after Nicholls State tied it at 14 early in the third quarter. The Colonels (0-2) were playing for just the second time this season after having their first two games canceled due to hurricanes.
The Colonels scored first on a 9-yard run by Marlin Meeks in the first quarter.
Chris Bunch led the Colonels in rushing with 82 yards on nine carries.
