LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Deandre' Morrow rushed for two touchdowns to help the Lafayette defeat Liberty 35-21 on Saturday.
Liberty outgained Lafayette 475-338 in the game, but the Leopards (5-1) led 28-7 at halftime and handed the first loss of the seaon to the Flames (6-1).
Morrow finished with 38 yards, but scored on a 13-yard run to give Lafayette a 14-7 lead with 2:02 remaining in the first quarter.
Rob Curley was 18 of 32 for 176 yards and a 19-yard touchdown pass to Tim Watson late in the second quarter, and Andy Romans returned a blocked punt 15 yards for another score to give Lafayette a 35-14 lead with 12:28 remaining in the third.
Brock Smith was 24 of 37 for 344 yards and two touchdowns for Liberty.
Dominic Bolden caught eight passes for 150 yards and a 60-yard touchdown catch, and Jonathan Crawford had seven catches for 106 yards and a 19-yard touchdown catch.
Rashad Jennings rushed 20 times for 148 yards and a 58-yard touchdown run for Liberty.
