CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Jackson MacLachlan hit a 27-yard field goal with 50 seconds remaining Saturday to give Southern Illinois a 20-18 victory over Missouri State in the Missouri Valley Conference opener for both teams.
The Salukis (2-1) got the ball on their own 28 with 4:51 left and drove 62 yards in 11 plays to set up MacLachlan's game-winner.
