FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Sacred Heart blocked a game-tying field goal attempt by Dartmouth as time expired in a 24-21 win on Saturday.
With the game tied 21-21, Keshaudas Spence led Sacred Heart on a 17-play, 74-yard drive that resulted in a 22-yard field goal from Chris Rogers to give the Pioneers (1-2) a 24-21 lead. Spence recorded 30 of his 129 yards on the drive, which ate up 7:50. Dartmouth took possession with only 55 seconds remaining in the game.
The Big Green (1-1) marched 55 yards to the Sacred Heart 36-yard line to set up a game-tying field goal attempt. But Sacred Heart's Paul Graziadei broke through the Big Green line to block the 53-yard attempt and seal the game for the Pioneers.
