Georgetown 40, Colgate 17

WASHINGTON -- Isaiah Kempf threw a 63-yard touchdown to Jamal Davis and ran for another score as Georgetown defeated Colgate 40-17 Saturday for the Hoyas' first win against the Raiders in the nine-game series.

Brett Weiss kicked field goals of 29, 30, 21 and 37 yards for Georgetown (6-2, 2-1 Patriot League), which won its third straight game while snapping Colgate's three-game winning streak.

Tied at 7 after the first quarter, the Hoyas outscored the Raiders 33-3 before Colgate (4-4, 1-2) scored another TD with 1:04 to go.

The game pitted the Hoyas' 10th-ranked rushing defense (allowing 90.71 yards per game) against the Raiders' seventh-ranked rushing offense (248.6 yards). Colgate, which rushed for more than 300 yards in its previous two games against Georgetown, gained only 121 yards on the ground.

The Hoyas intercepted three passes, with Robert McCabe returning one for a 50-yard score. He also had 15 tackles.
