MURRAY, Ky. -- Mike Harris rushed for three touchdowns after an early flurry of field goals and fumble returns for scores staked Murray State to a big lead that the Racers would hold the whole way in a 56-24 rout of Austin Peay Saturday.
Qua Huzzie and Julian Whitehead both returned fumbles for touchdowns in the first half, sandwiched around four field goals by Kienan Cullen (37, 33, 41 and 30 yards) to put the Racers up 26-0.
Harris added touchdowns of 3 and 5 yards to put Murray State (6-4, 4-3 Ohio Valley Conference) ahead 39-10 at halftime, and the Racers cruised from there.
Harris had 134 rushing yards and Casey Brockman added 277 passing yards and a touchdown for Murray State. Cullen was 5 of 5 on field goals and completed a pass for 21 yards.
Jake Ryan had 101 yards, two touchdowns and an interception for the Governors (3-7, 2-5).
