Heimler caught his TD with 9:17 remaining after the Fighting Sioux (7-3, 2-1 Great West) took possession at the UC Davis 37 thanks to a turnover. On their next-to-last drive, the Aggies (3-7, 1-3) advanced to the North Dakota 40 but turned the ball over on downs.
The defenses dominated, as North Dakota compiled just 232 yards of offense to UC Davis' 228.
Goska completed 16 of 30 passes with an interception.
Randy Wright was 15 of 30 for 129 yards and an interception for the Aggies.
Next week, North Dakota hosts South Dakota (2-1 Great West) for a share of the conference title with Cal Poly (3-1).
