DENTON, Texas -- Derek Thompson threw for 274 yards and rushed 72 yards to lead North Texas to a 34-27 come-from-behind win over Ball State Saturday.
North Texas (1-1) struggled early as Ball State (2-1) sprinted to a 20-3 lead in the first quarter.
Ball State combined offense and defense to get out front as Keith Wenning tossed a 2-yard touchdown pass to Willie Snead, Horactio Banks added a 77-yard touchdown run and Brian Jones scooped up a fumble, returning it 3 yards for another score.
