BALTIMORE -- Robert Council accounted for two touchdowns, including a go-ahead 7-yard TD pass to Nate Ingram with 26 seconds remaining, and Morgan State came from behind to defeat Hampton 30-27 Saturday.
Council also had a 1-yard TD run in the first quarter, and was 20 of 27 for 287 yards. Morgan St. (3-6, 3-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) jumped out to a 23-7 halftime lead, highlighted by a 93-yard kickoff return by Tubotein Taylor. Lamont Brown led the Bears on the ground with 19 carries for 92 yards, including an 11-yard TD run.
Hampton (3-6, 3-2) roared back on the ground in the second half with touchdown runs of 88, 31 and 58 to take a 27-23 lead with 10:33 remaining. Jorrian Washington rushed for 137 yards on 15 carries, including the 88-yard TD run. The Pirates rushed for 277 yards on 36 carries.
The loss snaps Hampton's three-game winning streak.
