Maryland's game against Richmond won't tell us how high the Terps' ceiling is - but we might figure out the bottom. Richmond's defense returns less than half their starters, so UMD should have no trouble scoring. Should.

Matt Barrie answers mascot’s challenge

The Notre Dame Leprechaun brought a spare outfit to SportsCenter's visit, and, as it turns out, anchor Matt Barrie looks good in green.

We are one hour from Chad Kelly making his debut at Ole Miss. But I also want to see another transfer, Damore'ea Stringfellow, in action for the Rebels. The former Washington wide receiver could have a big day and emerge as a nice complement to Laquon Treadwell this season.

Adam Griffith's family ties

Alabama kicker Adam Griffith has taken an incredible journey from Polish orphan to starter on the Crimson Tide football team. With his adopted family, he returns to Poland and reunites with his birth parents.

Potentially tricky openers for both Nebraska and Penn State today. Interested to see how Huskers defense, playing in simplified, more aggressive scheme, holds up against BYU quarterback Taysom Hill. Coaches love DT Maliek Collins -- interested to see how he looks. Penn State's big question remains the offensive line. Temple is a good barometer as Owls really get after the quarterback. We should learn something about both Huskers and Lions.

GameDay makes Auburn-Louisville picks

Kirk Herbstreit and David Pollack think new starting QB Jeremy Johnson will lead No. 6 Auburn to victory, but Desmond Howard has the Cardinals pulling off the upset.

Meet one of ASU's biggest fans and Todd Graham's niece- Tessler Graham. The name sound familiar? Maybe it's because her parents came up with the name while watching ASU beat USC last season. They liked (Cody) Kessler as a name but dropped the K and added a T. Little Tessler joined the world five months later and will attend her first game today as No. 15 ASU takes on Texas A&M.

The Baylor offense we're used to seeing certainly showed up in the second half against SMU. The No. 4 Bears averaged 10 yards per play in the game's final two quarters, hitting the Mustangs' thin, tiring defense for gains of 57, 56, 56, 42, 41 and 38 yards. Meanwhile, its defense pitched a second-half shutout and held SMU to 3.3 yards per play.

Soundtrack to our Saturdays

College GameDay looks back at the contributions of Chris Fowler, who stepped aside as host after 25 years.

Arkansas Tech tribute turns into TD

The Wonder Boys lined up with 10 players on the field for their first defensive play as a way to honor Zemaric Holt, a teammate who drowned this summer. Amazingly, the result was a fumble recovery for a TD.
