COLLEGE FOOTBALL LIVE

INSIDER INSIGHTS: MSU vs. OSU, PT 1

Chris Low: "Who's a better team -- Mississippi State or Ohio State? I honestly can see both sides of that argument. I saw the Buckeyes live two weeks ago, and they were extremely impressive in the way they carved apart that Michigan State defense on the road. J.T. Barrett has made a huge difference with that team and the way he's developed. So I can see how some would have Ohio State in at No. 4 over Mississippi State, even with that ugly loss to Virginia Tech..."

INSIDER INSIGHTS: REBS LOSS HURTS DOGS

Chris Low: "Ole Miss getting blown out today was a huge blow for Mississippi State, which needed Ole Miss to be a top-10 team. The Bulldogs could have really helped their resume by ending the regular season with a win over a top-10 team on the road."

INSIDER INSIGHTS: HEISMAN WATCH

Chris Low: "Hard to see anybody unseating Mariota for the Heisman Trophy right now. Gordon may have a chance. Could you imagine somebody breaking Barry Sanders' rushing record and not winning the Heisman?"

Canaan Severins one-handed diving catch was superb and gave UVA a 10-7 lead over Miami.

INSIDER INSIGHTS: GORDON DRIVEN

Chris Low: "I predicted at midseason that Melvin Gordon would break the Big Ten rushing record. He tied it today, and potentially with three more games, could make a run at Barry Sanders' FBS single-season record of 2,628 yards. I spent a couple of days with Gordon this summer while doing a piece for ESPN The Magazine and haven't been around many athletes who were more driven than he is. You could just tell he was poised for a huge season."

INSIDER INSIGHTS: FEAR THE HOGS

Chris Low: "An entire football season has a way of completely changing the way we look at things. Earlier this year, Arkansas couldn't win an SEC game. But, now, other than Alabama and Mississippi State, I think Arkansas is the team in the SEC West I least would want to play. Hogs are so physical, and with two straight shutouts, are playing with a ton of confidence."

After two shutouts of ranked opponents, 6-5 Arkansas could end up ranked by the AP tomorrow. A five-loss team has NEVER played a game as a ranked team in the history of the AP Poll (since 1936).

INSIDER INSIGHTS: NOLES SURVIVE AGAIN

Chris Low: "Is it just me, or can you feel the whole country (outside of Tallahassee) rooting for Florida State to get beat every week? Give the Seminoles their props. It's uncanny how they keep finding ways to win. You almost wonder if they're toying with everybody just to keep it interesting. OK, I don't really believe that, but they sure do make it fun."

INSIDER INSIGHTS: DOMINANT DUCKS

Chris Low: "I know it changes every week, and everybody's playing a different schedule, but Oregon gets my vote right now as the most impressive team, especially with Marcus Mariota playing the way he is right now. He's more accurate throwing the ball, doesn't turn it over and makes so many plays."

A ref got in Jameis Winstons way as the QB attempted to run a play, so what did Famous Jameis do? Start shoving the referee.

"We made the critical drive when we had to make the drive. We got the stop down there when we had to get the stop."

Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher saw his team make the plays they needed once again to stay unbeaten.

For Ole Miss, the 30-0 loss is the worst shutout loss by an AP top-10 team since 1990 when No. 5 USC lost 31-0 to No. 21 Washington.

Who are these Razorbacks?

After 17 straight conference losses, Arkansas gets its second straight shutout win -- this one vs. Ole Miss, 30-0. Arkansas is the first unranked team to EVER shut out a ranked opponent in back-to-back games.
