Both Oklahoma State and West Virginia will be without their defensive leaders Saturday, and for the rest of the season. OSU LB and three-year starter Ryan Simmons suffered a season-ending knee injury last weekend. S Karl Joseph, who injured his knee in a non-contact drill Tuesday, was on pace to break the WVU record for most career defensive starts. Joseph's injury is especially devastating. He had emerged as the early Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year favorite. The Cowboys will miss Simmons' presence, too. But they have a ready-made replacement in former Cal transfer Chad Whitener.

LSU's profile will look odd with 11 regular-season games and only four road games, but the Tigers' Playoff prospects shouldn't be overly harmed.
