Demarcus Ayers' huge day continues. In addition to his 8 catches for 161 yards and a TD, he just threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to Linell Bonner on a trick play. Houston back to a three-touchdown lead over No. 15 Navy, 45-24.

Ayers doing it all for Houston

Demarcus Ayers has caught a few ridiculous passes today from Greg Ward Jr., but on this latest TD, Ayers took over the passing responsibilities and connected with Linell Bonner on a 29-yard score. Houston leads No. 15 Navy 45-24 on ABC.

This could be the last game we see Gary Pinkel roaming the sidelines for Missouri. If his Tigers don't beat Arkansas today, it would mean they fell short of becoming bowl eligible. Pinkel announced earlier this month that he will resign at the end of the season due to health reasons.

Navy chips away at deficit vs. Houston

The first play of the fourth quarter saw Navy's Chris Swain run it in for a 2-yard touchdown as the Midshipmen refuse to give up against Houston. No. 15 Navy still trails 38-24 on ABC.

Still think Miami returns enough talent to truly contend for the Coastal in '16. Makes this hire even more important. Lots in place to win.

OTD: Cowboys lasso crazy interception

On this date in 2010, Oklahoma State's Brodrick Brown gave new meaning to the tip drill when he leaped out of bounds to deflect the ball back into play, where LB Shaun Lewis then completed the improbable interception.

Demarcus Ayers having quite the day for Houston. The junior WR earlier tipped a ball to himself for an impressive 28-yard catch and just a moment ago, Ayers went up one-handed to snatch a Greg Ward Jr. pass and take it to the house for a 62-yard TD. Houston leads No. 15 Navy 38-17 late in the third.

Pitt's Hall motors into end zone

Darrin Hall broke out for a 35-yard run that ended in a touchdown. Pitt trails Miami 23-10 on ESPN2.

No. 15 Navy gets 3 points back

Austin Grebe's 39-yard field goal was good, and the Midshipmen look to continue cutting into Houston's lead in the second half on ABC.

Houston extends lead to 17 points

Linell Bonner had a Navy defenseman all up in his face, but he pulled in Greg Ward Jr.'s 4-yard pass for a Houston touchdown. The Cougars lead No. 15 Navy 31-14 on ABC.

Sam Khan Jr. ESPN Staff Writer

It's all Houston early in the third quarter; No. 15 Navy is in danger, down 17 points. The Cougars have scored on five of their six drives today; Navy has only done so twice on five drives with its last drive ending in an interception. Houston took advantage by turning that turnover into six points via a Greg Ward Jr. to Linell Bonner 4-yard pass. 31-17 Houston early in the third.

Houston QB Greg Ward Jr. had an impressive first half (17-of-25 passing, 162 yards, TD) including making a couple dazzling runs en route to a 51-yard first half on the ground. The ankle injury he is battling doesn't seem to affect him at all. Navy QB Keenan Reynolds (96 passing yards, 69 rushing yards) has also been impressive but Houston's defense did a decent job keeping the Navy triple option in check, forcing Navy to punt on two of its four first-half drives.

Miami continues to pour on points

Michael Badgley connected on a 23-yard field goal for the Hurricanes, who took a 23-3 lead over Pitt into halftime.

David Hale @DavidHaleESPN

Larry Scott has done an amazing job with Miami. Two awful blowouts, coach fired, and they've never quit. This is impressive at Pitt.

Houston nails FG to increase lead to 10

Ty Cummings' 45-yard field goal hooked back and went through the uprights as Houston extended its lead over No. 15 Navy 24-14 at the half.
