Stanford leads Notre Dame 14-7 after the first quarter. Thanks to a 93-yard C.J. Sanders kick return, the Irish didnt run their first offensive play until the Cardinal had run 23. Stanford quarterback Kevin Hogan has efficiently picked Notre Dame apart, completing 7-of-9 passes for 90 yards and two touchdowns. Christian McCaffrey has 72 all-purpose yards, putting him 372 shy of Barry Sanders single-season NCAA record.
