Also keep an eye on the Ole Miss-Miss. State winner. If Florida loses to Florida State the winner of that game could jump the Gators and knock them out of the Sugar Bowl spot. Committee would have to take top-rated SEC team behind Bama if the Tide then beats UF in the SEC title game and goes to the playoff

Florida justly drops from 8th to 12th in the CFB Rankings after an ugly 20-14 OT win over FAU. Gators failing the eye test now and you have to wonder if they'll need help even if they beat No. 13 FSU and No. 2 Bama. Don't forget the eye test really means something. And what if Notre Dame wins out too? What if another one-loss Big 12 team takes OU's spot?

Here's where the CFP stands

Oklahoma and Iowa have moved up to No. 3 and 4, respectively, as Michigan State and Notre Dame are the first two teams out.

Notre Dame goes down in CFP rankings

Kirk Herbstreit, Rece Davis, Joey Galloway and Danny Kanell break down the top 4 teams in this weeks CFP rankings, which now doesn't include the Irish.

Greg Ostendorf ESPN Staff Writer

Down year for the SEC? With Florida dropping to No. 12 after Saturday's overtime win over FAU, there is only one SEC team (Alabama) in the top 10 and just four SEC teams in the top 25.

Wisconsin running back Corey Clement says if the NFL draft advisory board projects him as a third round pick or worse, he will return to school. Badgers RB coach John Settle told me he will advise Corey to stay because he hasn't put together a complete season. Clement has appeared in only three games while battling a sports hernia injury.

Watch: Northern Illinois-Ohio

Northern Illinois can clinch its third straight trip to the MAC title game if it can beat visiting Ohio. Both teams will be playing with backup quarterbacks tonight. Live on ESPNU, WatchESPN

Hard to argue with Hawkeyes being No. 4, but Michigan State's wins over Oregon, Michigan & Ohio State should resonate more

Jeff Long: It was more about the performance of Oklahoma and Michigan State against top-ranked teams that propelled them past Notre Dame.

Travis Haney @TravHaneyESPN

CFP chair Jeff Long says Nos. 3-6 required multiple revotes. Tells you how close those teams are. Not much separating them.

Jared Shanker ESPN Staff Writer

Florida State is No. 13 in the rankings, but the Seminoles look poised to break into the top 10 by season's end if they beat No. 12 Florida. A number of head-to-head matchups involving teams ranked ahead of FSU remain, so the Noles are in good position to move into contention for a New Year's Six bowl as others fall.

Jake Trotter ESPN Staff Writer

With Oklahoma jumping four spots to No. 3 in the CFB rankings, chances are good that the Sooners will be in the playoff with a victory in Bedlam.

Brian Bennett ESPN Staff Writer

Iowa is 4th and Michigan State is 5th. Pretty much interchangeable, as both teams need to win out (and beat one of the other). A Notre Dame loss to Stanford would still be extremely helpful for the Big Ten, as the Irish are 6th.

Andrea Adelson ESPN Staff Writer

It should come as no surprise that Clemson remains No. 1 in the latest College Football Playoff ranking, considering the Tigers are one of two undefeated teams left and have the best win (over Notre Dame). If they beat South Carolina on Saturday and then No. 14 North Carolina in the ACC championship game, they would be a playoff lock.

Jake Trotter ESPN Staff Writer

Baylor bumped up three spots to No. 7 in the CFP ranking after a win at Oklahoma State. The Bears are lurking, should an upset or two happen above them.

David M. Hale ESPN Staff Writer

Pitt is 8-3 with all three losses to teams ranked in the CFP top 14, but it's not enough to push the Panthers into this week's rankings. Several 3-loss teams, including Mississippi State, Washington St and UCLA, make the top 25 though.

David M. Hale ESPN Staff Writer

North Carolina jumps 3 more spots, up from 17 to 14 in the latest committee poll. Florida and Florida State, who play this week, are immediately ahead of the Tar Heels. Three two-loss teams continue to rank ahead of UNC, too.

Is Iowa boring?

Some fans may not want to tune in to every down the Hawkeyes play, but who cares? There's nothing boring about 11-0. RB Jordan Canzeri said, "When we play together, we win. Perspective on perfection
