PRACTICE NOTES
Monday (1/21/02):
Athletically, Alex Brown was the head of the class of defensive linemen. He didn't get a lot of reps. I'm wondering if he's holding back, saving himself. In the athletic drills Brown was outstanding, displaying quick and explosive moves -- he moves like a linebacker. As a pass rusher, he looks ready to go. He looks a little undersized, which makes you wonder about his durability. Against the run, he did an OK job of holding the point of attack. He looked and performed like a professional.
Tuesday (1/22/02):
Alex Brown was real athletic again. He plays light and can get tied up by a big guy. Levi Jones handled him in one-on-ones today. That's going to be a problem. He needs to learn more pass rush moves. He's got to out-athlete the tackle.
Wednesday (1/23/02):
Alex Brown did a good job with his speed rush this morning. He still needs to work on developing some counter moves and getting off blocks. Brown continued to display great speed and athletic ability.
Thursday (1/24/02):
Alex Brown and the defensive linemen really only did a few drills today. He's got to be able to show the ability to play against a big offensive tackle on Saturday. He's struggled some against the run this week. Brown also needs to display multiple pass moves.

SUMMARY
Alex Brown is strictly a pass rusher that needs to develop against the run. Needs to learn some counter moves. Brown has outstanding speed and an explosive first step. He needs to keep his motor running on every snap. Brown needs to make some plays against the run on Saturday. Look for Brown to go in the 2nd round.
