| PRACTICE NOTES |
Monday (1/21/02):
Andre Gurode, a guard, tried to show his versatility today by taking some snaps at center. He looked very raw at center, like he hadn't done it before. He displayed good explosiveness, good pop in his pass protection, aggressiveness and strength in his hands. He looks to finish. Gurode likes to bury people. He doesn't just want to block someone, he wants to put them on the ground. He's got a nasty attitude, which you have to like. His center play needs to improve, but this was probably his first time at the position.
Tuesday (1/22/02):
Andre Gurode continues to improve. Now that they are practicing in full pads and with live contact, he's more comfortable. For a physical offensive lineman like he is, full contact is more to his liking. When Gurode gets his strong hands on a defensive lineman, it's hard for them to escape. He is the best lineman in the group by far. He continues to work some at center and did a much better job at that position today.
Wednesday (1/23/02):
Andre Gurode continues to play well. He continued to finish and show the desire to dominate. Gurode has a great attitude and can play multiple line positions. He was excellent in today's one-on-one drills.
Thursday (1/24/02):
The offensive linemen did nothing today. When the big guys aren't in pads, you really can't see anything. Andre Gurode and the other offensive lineman basically had the day off physically. Today was their mental day, making sure their assignments were right.
