PRACTICE NOTES
Monday (1/21/02):
Marquise Walker has good size, but he didn't show great speed. He displayed the ability to catch the ball, but no fast-twitch explosive movements. He's got to prove that he's not just a long strider.
Tuesday (1/22/02):
Having full geat on helped Marquise Walker today. He was able to use his size and strength to catch balls. Walker still hasn't exhibited an explosive burst out of his break or down the field. It will be interesting to see his 40 time because he hasn't showed good speed on the field. Walker didn't get much separation in one-on-one drills with the defensive backs. He did make some nice catches and run some nice routes.
Wednesday (1/23/02):
Marquise Walker looked good in the red zone, where his size and ability to catch the ball could be displayed. He really knows how to use his body well to screen the defensive back. His draft key will be his 40 time at the combines.
Thursday (1/24/02):
Marquise Walker really didn't do much today. Since the team concentrated on special teams, he didn't have many chances to catch the ball.

SUMMARY
Marquise Walker has the size teams are looking for -- especially in the West Coast offense. Has great ball skills. Caught the ball extremely well. The only thing missing is deep speed and the ability to really separate. Walker's showing this week mirrored his scouting report. The faster he runs in the 40-yard dash, the more money he'll make. Look for Walker to go in the 2nd round.

FINAL GRADE
B+
