Missouri won't accept bowl bid

Despite finishing 5-7, the Tigers had a chance to participate in a bowl game, but Missouri AD Mack Rhoades released a statement saying "our focus remains on identifying the right leader for our program and moving forward with the transition process." Gary Pinkel, the all-time winningest coach in school history, announced earlier this season he would resign at the end of this campaign.

Experts like Mizzou's bowl chances

There's not enough six-win teams to fill all of this winter's bowl games. Mark Schlabach and Brett McMurphy both predict 5-7 Missouri to go bowling -- but where? Bowl projections

Missouri may not miss bowl game

In a season for Mizzou which featured many twists and turns, sneaking into a bowl game without winning six games would be just another strange happening. It's possible that Gary Pinkel hasn't coached his last game. Bowling with five wins?

Mizzou falls to Arkansas in Pinkel's finale

Alex Collins rushed for 130 yards and 3 TDs as Arkansas routed Missouri 28-3 in Gary Pinkel's final game for the Tigers. Pinkel announced earlier this month he would retire from coaching as he seeks treatment for lymphoma. Box score

Arkansas is 5-9 on third down while Missouri is 1-7. So it's no wonder the Razorbacks are in total control, leading the Tigers 21-3 in the third quarter.

This could be the last game we see Gary Pinkel roaming the sidelines for Missouri. If his Tigers don't beat Arkansas today, it would mean they fell short of becoming bowl eligible. Pinkel announced earlier this month that he will resign at the end of the season due to health reasons.
