Pac-12 must adapt schedule in playoff era

The "We'll play nine conference games, that'll show 'em" plan may not work out for the Pac-12, but they aren't alone. Many schools and conferences are still trying to figure out their scheduling approach in the playoff era. McGee: Flipping the Field

Utes tumble in power rankings

Utah saw more success in non-conference and Pac-12 North matchups this season than in its own division. Where are the Utes ranked following two straight losses? Power Rankings

It appears that Utah just doesn't have enough offensive firepower to beat UCLA without Devontae Booker. Travis Wilson has passed for only 85 yards as the Bruins lead 17-9 late. This isn't entirely surprising, as the Utes relied on Booker more heavily than any team in country relied on their running back. The Utes are hoping their defense can give them a sorely needed spark. If that doesn't happen, UCLA will be in the Pac-12 South driver's seat with their showdown against USC looming.

David Lombardi ESPN Staff Writer

UCLA leads Utah 10-6 at half, but the Utes are hanging in there without their all-everything running back Devontae Booker, out-gaining the Bruins 194-190. Utah has mustered only 68 yards against UCLAs league-leading pass defense, but they have managed to run the ball effectively (126 yards) even without their star back. If the Utes find a way to win while Oregons lead over USC holds up, theyll be the prohibitive favorites to win the Pac-12 South.
