A thin interior defensive line could lead to fewer obvious passing situations, which could undermine what Georgia's defense does best: rushing the QB.
The top of the 2016 college football heap is projected to look a lot like the end of 2015 -- starting with Alabama and Clemson. But what are the sneaky-good teams that could crash the CFP party?

Georgia's Kirby Smart is candid about his players, including a secondary that returns just about everyone. "We've got some good players back but not great players, certainly not the level I would be accustomed to coming from Alabama," Smart said. "It's not that caliber of corners." Safety Dominick Sanders is the clear leader of the group but, according to Smart, needs great players around him to maximize his potential. "He's an All-SEC second-team type of guy," Smart said.
The SEC will have 10 teams with new coordinators next year, and their players already have formed some opinions of their new coaches.
Georgia coach Kirby Smart comments on his path to his new role, getting his players on the same page, the Bulldogs' RB situation, the team's facilities and Jacob Eason's abilities.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart is thinking about the plan for freshman quarterback Jacob Eason "every day" as camp looms. "Where do his reps go? Who does he rep with? Who does he rep behind? How do we rotate him in scrimmages," Smart said. "How do we get this guy ready to play?" Since Greyson Lambert and Brice Ramsey have more experience, Eason needs more preseason reps. "His growth potential is more, his ceiling's probably more," Smart said of Eason. "But the other two, we've got to have ready to play because I don't think you can start a season relying totally on a true freshman."
Marion Campbell, who starred on the Philadelphia Eagles' 1960 championship team before later serving as their head coach, died Wednesday at the age of 87.

Vegas isn't betting against the Tide
Alabama has 3-2 odds to win the SEC championship and 5-1 odds to win the national championship, according to the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook.
Tennessee heavily favored in SEC East
ESPN's Football Power Index gives Tennessee a 57 percent chance to reach the SEC championship game.

Recruiting wasn't Georgia's problem under former coach Mark Richt. Don't expect new Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart to get caught up in recruiting rankings. "That's the part we got to change at the University of Georgia -- to excel on the field with what we bring in and not just excel at recruiting and just have a Top 10 class," Smart said.
