RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) Carisse Moody and Tynesha Lewis recovered
from poor first-round outings to combine for 43 points as North
Carolina State beat Villanova 68-64 Sunday in the second round of
the East Regional.

between defending champion Connecticut and Colorado State.
Moody, who had nine points in a victory over Delaware on Friday,
went 7-for-14 from the field for 22 points and grabbed nine
rebounds against Villanova.
Lewis, just 3-for-12 against Delaware, improved to 7-for-10
Sunday and added five rebounds and five assists.
Villanova (22-9), the fifth seed in the East, hit just 37
percent of its shots after shooting 38 percent against Drake in the
first round.
Courtney Mix led Villanova with 15 points. Trish Juhline added
13.
N.C. State went on a 16-4 run midway through the second half to
take a 50-39 lead with 9:26 left.
Villanova scored seven straight points to pull to 64-60 with
1:20 left, but the Wolfpack made four of six free throws in the
final 33 seconds to seal the victory.
