WNBA stars gearing up for busy '08

Lisa Leslie said what everybody probably thought upon hearing that Houston Comets legend Sheryl Swoopes had signed with Seattle. Swoopes wearing Comets' red is one of the iconic images of the WNBA.

"That's totally weird -- I'm not sure what it's going to be like seeing her in green and being a part of that team," Leslie said Wednesday during a USA Basketball teleconference.

Leslie and Katie Smith, longtime national team veterans, discussed the squad's upcoming spring-training schedule in preparation for the Beijing Olympics in August. They also talked about other hot topics, including Swoopes' move to the Northwest and Tennessee's Candace Parker likely joining Leslie in Los Angeles this season if she's the No. 1 overall pick in April's WNBA draft.
