In an ESPN.com chat a couple of weeks ago, someone asked me which player I was leaning toward in the race for national player of the year. Maya Moore was the first name to come to mind, although a lot of people who spend more time around the Huskies than I do insist Renee Montgomery is the stronger candidate. (Yes, it's a nice time to live in Storrs when those are the toughest decisions the day brings.)
