Guess we don't have to worry about that potential high-emotion Elite Eight matchup between Texas and Duke anymore, huh?

We got nowhere near that, as the No. 6 seed Longhorns were the first better-seeded team to go belly-up in the NCAA tournament.

Texas fell 71-63 to No. 11 Mississippi State on Saturday afternoon. The Longhorns finished the season losing seven of their last nine, with their only two wins in that stretch both coming against Missouri.
