Brianna Banks plans to transfer

STORRS, Conn. -- The University of Connecticut says junior guard Brianna Banks has told the school she intends to transfer somewhere closer to her Georgia home.

Coach Geno Auriemma said Tuesday that Banks ``showed great heart'' both on the court and rehabbing from a knee injury that cut short her sophomore season. He wished her ``nothing but the best.''

Banks, from Newnan, Ga., played in 90 games during three years at Connecticut, averaging 4.4 points and 1.4 rebounds in 14.2 minutes ...
